Dr. Bradley Lee Bruns DVM
Dr. Bruns was born and raised on a dairy farm in Darke County just 5 miles northwest of Versailles. He graduated from Versailles High School in 1985. He was accepted into The Ohio State University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture in 1990 and he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in June 1992. He worked at a Veterinary practice for 2 1/2 years before opening Bruns Animal Clinic on March 1st, 1995. He is on the board with Goat Farmers, VAPPA, Eagles, and Holy Family Catholic Church. He is also involved with several veterinarian organizations.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, sitting around the campfire, riding his UTV, and working in his woods. Dr. Bruns is married to his wife Lil and they have 4 children and 6 grandchildren.
Dr. Preston Deeter DVM
Dr. Deeter began his career at Bruns Animal Clinic in 2021 where he cares for both small and large animals. His professional interests include small and large animal surgeries, and show pig medicine. His passion for veterinary medicine was sparked as a child, caring for many different types of pets. As he grew older his love for raising show pigs led him to take a special interest in swine medicine.
Dr. Deeter is a 2021 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Findlay in 2017. After college Preston and his wife Jacquelyn, moved back to Ansonia. They now have two children, Leighton and Grayson, and 2 dogs, Brody and Bailey. Preston and Jacquelyn recently began a small show pig operation on their farm, raising show pigs for 4-H and FFA kids. They are members of the Darke County Swine Breeder’s Association and Community Of Faith Church.
Dr. AJ Luft DVM
Dr. AJ Luft is a 1996 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. AJ has predominantly worked in the large animal industry primarily in the dairy field. He moved to west-central Ohio in 1998 and started working at Chickasaw Veterinary Center. At the beginning of 2003, he became the co-owner and is still a co-owner today. In 2008 Dr. AJ moved to the Versailles area and started a small beef farm. In 2018 Dr. Aj decided to increase his small animal work and joined the staff at Bruns Animal Clinic which is part-time in addition to his own practice.
Dr. AJ has been married to his lovely wife Jan for 36 years. They have two children. His son Paul recently got married to his wife Jackie and is pursuing a music career. His daughter Erin is currently attending school in Nashville TN.
Dr. Ann Dapore DVM
Dr. Ann Dapore grew up in Versailles. Initially, her life ambition was to be a flying red horse, but on her fourth birthday her parents enrolled her in “The Pet of the Month Club” (Siamese fighting fish, African underwater frogs, two playful newts) and her fate was sealed. As a young woman she told her mother she wanted a career working with animals where she would be always learning new things and where she could wear comfortable shoes. After high school Ann obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State and then a doctorate degree in Biopsychology from Duke University. Dr. Dapore taught undergraduate psychology for 8 years before returning to Ohio State to pursue a veterinary degree. Dr. Dapore completed her DVM I 1998. Since that time, she has worked exclusively in small animal clinics in North Carolina, Cleveland, Ohio, and Brisbane Australia. In 2018 she returned to the United States with her husband, Kevin O’Brien, and their son James (Zupe) and began her journey with Bruns Animal Clinic.
Dr. Dapore’s primary professional interests lie in internal medicine and dermatology. When she is not working, she’s watching superhero movies with her family, reading fiction, and taking photographs. Ann feels very fortunate that she got to fulfill her childhood dreams in comfortable shoes.
